Alzheimer's disease is the most common cause of dementia among older adults and the sixth leading cause of death in the United States, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. More than five million people are living with Alzheimer's disease in the U.S. Although there is no cure, treatment options are available that can delay some symptoms. Through clinical trials and research, health professionals throughout the Texas Medical Center are working to find a cure for Alzheimer's disease. 8
