Together, these independent entities form the largest medical complex in the world. Hermann Hospital opens to the public with 100 beds and 109 physicians. 1 1 9 2 5 1 8 9 2 DePelchin Children's Center is founded, primarily as an orphanage. The center grows to include other services, including adoption and foster care. Hermann Hospital breaks ground.
