More than 600,000 people die of heart disease every year—that's about one in every four deaths. In 1964, February was recognized as American Heart Month to raise awareness of the disease. Heart Disease can be hereditary, but there are several measures people can take to reduce their risk, including eating healthy, exercising and avoiding tobacco products.
